| 2022 As the Year draws to a close, we thought we would reflect on 2022 Coach holidays have overcome some major hurdles since 2020 but it is great to see a future that is definitely looking bright! Despite a large number of hotels increasing their base costs to cover energy price hikes and taking Government Contracts, some last-minute hotel changes had to be made with our Contracts team who worked diligently to ensure we were still able to find suitable hotels and bring you exciting new holidays. European holidays which was initially very difficult but we have seen a strong second half of the year which is encouraging. At the start of the year the temporary suspension of P&O sailings caused major disruption and with Eurotunnel restricting coach journeys – we are now working with DFDS for the majority of our Channel crossings. Our Tour Department especially our Drivers, carried over 26000 clients on their 2022 coach holidays and between us all, we are looking forward to seeing you all again in 2023. Our Summer brochure should be with you over the Christmas period; however, it is already online for your perusal, with over 800 departures and many new destinations to choose from! |
| GROUPS – Edwards Coach Holidays Working alongside our Holidays department, is our GROUP TRAVEL department, who this year despite the challenges, took nearly 90 groups (over 2500 clients) on their holidays! | Edwards Local Service Our Local Bus Service team and drivers worked tirelessly through 2022, ensuring we kept to time, even when we had the high temperatures during the summer and the continued disruption at the beginning of the year, due to coronavirus. Call 01443 215290 for all LBS queries |
| Maintenance Many people do not realise that we have our very own Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) on site and we are able to carry out annual checks (MOTs) on trucks, buses, coaches, horse boxes and Cars. Our maintenance team inspected over 2,500 vehicles this year. | Coach Hire Edwards had the proud responsibility to carry our Welsh Rugby Union and visiting nations throughout 2022, our coach hire team worked enthusiastically for both the 6 Nations & the Autumn internationals. For any Private Hire enquiries for weddings, daytrips or just transporting you to your favourite venues, we are able to offer a solution for you. Every day through school term working with our Transport Department, we carry over 5,000 pupils safely to school, morning and afternoon, including some swimming in between! | The Portbyhan Hotel We have to highlight our wonderful hotel in Looe, who provided accommodation for over 20,000 people in 2022, which after such a turbulent time in 2020, was an amazing feat. Lindsey, Stacey and the dedicated team worked 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure that their valued guests were comfortable, entertained and had a great holiday experience… The webcam from the hotel sees nearly 1000 views a day, including the local fishermen who use it to view the tide, but also from all over the world. | Ruth Madoc In finishing, we express our deepest condolences to family & friends of the Welsh Icon who was the voice of Edwards Coach Holidays. Ruth visited us here on several occasions and we were both shocked and saddened at her passing.  God bless campers! |
