La Rochelle & The Atlantic Coast
Our wonderful new tour stays in the lively port city of La Rochelle on the Atlantic Coast, and includes visits to Château La Roche Courbon, the charming town of Rochefort, a boat cruise to see Fort Boyard, a dramatic sea fortress and a tour and tasting at world famous Martell Cognac.

Day 1
TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following the Channel crossing to Calais and complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed & breakfast accommodation in Normandy. (D)
Day 2
OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO LA ROCHELLE
We continue our journey westwards across France arriving in the La Rochelle this afternoon for a four night stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. (B,D)
Day 3
LA ROCHELLE
Enjoy a day at leisure in La Rochelle, one of the most attractive port towns in France. The harbour is a lively place to explore with boats, buskers and market stalls and in the old town you will find many well preserved buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. (B,D)
Day 4
CHÂTEAU LA ROCHE COURBON & MARTELL COGNAC
This morning we visit Château La Roche Courbon, a fairytale castle that has been a family property for 3 generations. Admire the château and stroll through the beautiful gardens before we continue to the town of Saintes for free time. Later this afternoon we visit Martell Cognac for a tour of one of the oldest great cognac houses followed by a tasting. (B,D)
Day 5
ROCHEFORT & FORT BOYARD
Our excursion today takes us to Rochefort on the banks of the Charente, a pleasant town steeped in naval history. After free time we make our way to Fouras-les-Bains from where we enjoy a scenic one hour cruise to Fort Boyard, an impressive sea fortress with that had been a military structure, a prison and perhaps more famously as the filming location for a TV programme of the same name. Day 6
LA ROCHELLE TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B,D)
Day 7
FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
