Edwards Coaches are proud to announce that we have been chosen as the official “Team Coach” supplier for the Junior Rugby World Cup, 2008.
This prestigious event runs from the 6th to the 22nd of June, with a number of the matches being televised.

CLICK HERE for the WRU Website:
The WRU has revealed its aim to deliver the ‘best age group tournament ever’ when it hosts the inaugural Junior World Championship at U20 level in June 2008 (6th–22nd). The top sixteen nations in the world at U20 age grade level will compete for the world title in a new-look tournament which is to replace both the IRB U21 and U19 World Championships.
Wales U20 are seeded fourth for the tournament, following Wales U19's semi-final position at last season’s IRB U19 World Championships. This gives them the top spot in Pool D and will be based in Swansea while the other three top seeds are New Zealand U20 (Pool A, Cardiff), South Africa U20 (Pool B, Wrexham) and Australia U20 (Pool C, Newport).
Liberty Stadium, Swansea, will provide Wales U20's match venue for the tournament and the venue of the finals day on June 22nd, 2008. The other match venues will be Cardiff Arms Park, Rodney Parade, Newport and the Racecourse, Wrexham.
Part of the tournament’s legacy to grassroots rugby will see each of the sixteen participating teams being linked to a specific rugby club. The teams will use the club as their training base but it will also be used as a link between the tournament and the local community. Schools and clubs around that training base will have the chance to get involved with the tournament via the ‘adopted nation’ based at their local club. Youngsters will have the opportunity to watch training sessions, learn about the visiting country and attend matches during the tournament.
The new production at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane promises to be even more spectacular than ever before, starring Rowan Atkinson as Fagin, a cast and orchestra of over one hundred and an exciting new Nancy and Oliver. The sensational score is full of Lionel Bart’s irresistible songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You've Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I'd Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more.
Rupert Goold (Best Director, 2008 Olivier Awards), will be restaging Sam Mendes acclaimed production, and along with Tony award winning director and choreographer Matthew Bourne will be using every inch of London’s greatest musical stage with even more sensational sets by Anthony Ward.
Be the first to get your tickets so that you won’t have to pick a pocket or two to get in.

Last year, Edwards Coaches invested just under £1 million on three brand new executive Setra Tri Axle Coaches, and the investment has been well worth it to secure 4 awards within two days of receiving the brand new coach from manufacturers, Setra. Each of the coach is 13 metres in length, 1 metre longer than the standard executive coach, however they are still fitted with only 49 seats, allowing extra legroom for passengers to travel in comfort. Each coach is fitted with WC, hot and cold drinks facilities, reclining seats, first class padded seating, seatbelts, DVD/Audio systems, chrome alloy wheels, tinted windows, air conditioning and on board vacuum cleaner.
Again, this year, with the addition of a further 2 Setras, we are hoping to have retain our standard.
The business has gone from strength to strength, and has grown enormously over the 82 years that it has been operating. Edwards now employ over 150 staff from the local RCT area, each year they transport over 5,000 school children to and from school each day, and take over 50,000 passengers away on holidays each year. Ecole, the School tours department which was established in 2005 has already taken over 40 different schools from across South Wales on educational tours throughout Europe and skiing tours in Austria. Ecole is also the official operator of the Disneyland Resort Paris St David's Day Welsh Festival 2008, following the success of the 2007 festival for which 500 school children from across South Wales travelled with Ecole. Edwards is still the largest privately owned coach company in Wales, and is still run by the Edwards family.
